1. What do you believe is the most important thing OCS does for Alaskans?

Keep children safe and provide supports to keep families strong.

2. What are your priorities in your new position?

I believe OCS is an excellent place for me to learn even more about H&SS. My priorities will be to learn more about the people, the teams, and the programs that make up our division. I’ll be watching for ways to increase our collaborative efforts so we can stretch OCS’ dollars further while providing superior services to our clients.

3. How would you describe your personal work style?

I take what I do seriously, and I appreciate meeting the challenge daily by planning, working with teams, and finding creative solutions to problems that might happen on the way. However, I do have a great sense of humor that you’ll see as well.

4. What’s something people would be surprised to learn about you?

My first real job, besides babysitting, was at McDonald’s (corner of 36th and the Old Seward Highway) at age 14, and I haven’t stopped since.

5. What single thing would you like to tell the other employees of OCS?

I’m thrilled to be a part of the OCS team. Supporting our department’s mission, “To Promote and Protect the Health and Well-Being of Alaskans,” is important to me. I’m looking forward to meeting you all and forging positive working relationships.

BONUS: Silly question of your choosing:

What’s your favorite joke?
