Annual Medicare Drug Plan enrollment window closes Wednesday
After Dec. 31 Medicare recipients must wait a year, pay higher rates
(Anchorage, AK) — The open-enrollment period to join, switch or drop Medicare prescription drug plans ends Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008.
People who miss this enrollment window must wait until next Nov. 15 to enroll, and will pay permanent late fees. The exceptions are people who get both Medicare and Medicaid, or who have recently lost their group health care coverage.
Alaskans age 65 and older are encouraged to review Medicare Part D options each year.
