Hunger Action Month Kick Off Sep. 3, 2009
DHSS Commissioner Bill Hogan was among speakers at the Hunger Action Month Kick Off Sept. 3, 2009, at Town Square in Anchorage. The Food Bank of Alaska held the event to join 200 other food banks across the country in recognizing this month which raises awareness of hunger. Eighty-three flags were on display at the Anchorage event, representing 83,000 hungry Alaskans.
